NPHS Physical Day

Here’s your chance to get your sports physical done early and not have to worry about it again for a year.  NPHS is holding its annual Physicals Day, at the Thousand Oaks Surgical Center. The staff at the TO Surgical Center will donate their time; the fee for the physical will be donated back to NPHS Athletics.

Arcardia Invitational Results:

Kendall Mader placed fifth at the Arcadia Invitational in shot put with a throw of 38-8 1/2. Kendall is ranked 1st in Marmonte League in Shot Put. Jonathon Bryne finished fifth in the mile run with a time of 4:25.77. Jonathon is ranked 3rd in Marmonte League in the mile. The 4x400 boys team placed 1st with a time of 3:23.84. The NPHS Boys 4x400 team is ranked first in Marmonte League.

L. A. Lightning vs Gary Splash (May 20, 2012)

The Los Angeles Lightning is proud to announce a special fundraiser with Newbury Park High School. Through this program we are partnering with a select group to host a professional game night featuring several NBA veterans and international players, where 50 percent of the proceeds of tickets sold will be donated to the organizations programs.

Max Quiroz wins CIF title at 138 pounds

Newbury park High's Max Quiroz won a CIF title at 138 pounds during the CIF-SS Eastern Division Individual Championships at Oak Hills on Saturday.

Devin Duarte placed fifth at 145 pounds for Newbury Park. Quiroz and Duarte qualified for the Masters meet Friday at Temecula.

Panthers rebound, ready for playoffs

They flipped the script. The Newbury Park High girls’ basketball team didn’t begin its season as planned. The Panthers lost eight of their first 12 games and were only 3-4 in Marmonte League competition following a Jan. 13 home defeat against Royal. Since that loss to the Highlanders, however, Newbury Park has won five of six Marmonte games, including eyebrow- raising victories at home against Agoura and Thousand Oaks.

Women's Varsity Water Polo Places at AG Tourney

The Women's Varsity Water Polo Team took 4th Place in the Arroyo Grande Tournament. NPHS Goalie, Helena VanBrande had 45 saves overall, and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Legendary Girls Basketball Coach Nori Parvin has jersey retired in her honor

Darren Burge wanted to surprise Nori Parvin by retiring a jersey in her honor. But the Newbury Park High girls basketball coach feared his predecessor might not attend the game if he didn't tell her about the special ceremony. Burge also feared Parvin might not attend if he did tell her about it.

NP Hosting 15th Annual Mistletoe Classic

Newbury Park High School Girls' Water Polo Team is hosting their 15th Annual Mistletoe Classic this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A total of 24 teams have entered the competition this year, coming from as far away as Paso Robles.

The games will be held at three local high school pools, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks and Westlake. Six local teams will begin the competition on Thursday - Ventura, Carpinteria, Camarillo, Rio Mesa, Moorpark and Oaks Christian - at the Newbury Park campus.

Former Panther Colby Cameron Nominated for FRS Performance of the Year Award

Louisiana Tech's junior quarterback Colby Cameron is nominated for the FRS Quarterback Performance of the Year, Intersport announced today. The FRS Quarterback Performance of the Year is part of a four-month competition that lets fans determine which individual performances reign supreme during the 2011 college football season. The winners will be revealed during the two-hour All-Star Football Challenge special airing at 7 p.m. ET Feb. 3 on ESPN2.
